I just wrote up their their performance on KZSU so I’m not going to write a ton about the Morning Benders (myspace) show last night at the Great American.

They were the first band up in a bill with Land of Talk and the Rosebuds. They did a good set, with a lot of the same songs as the KZSU set. It seemed to go by in a flash. Even though it was an early show (8pm) and they were the first up, there was a pretty good crowd there.

The band appears to have a new addition: Elise who was singing and playing rhodes, in addition to the normal four (Chris, Joe, DB, Julian). She sat in with the band last Wednesday at KZSU, but at the time she was “wasn’t really in the band” and now she’s playing keyboards. Maybe the KZSU gig was a turning point.

I wasn’t too into Land of Talk and I’ve been on the edge of getting sick for a few days, so I called it a night after a handful of their songs. I’m curious about the Rosebuds, but you can’t win them all.

Oh and my fellow DJ, Gavin, was in the crowd.
