sf venue capacities
I was wondering the relative sizes of various SF clubs so I decided I would just make a list. It’s still a bit incomplete, so let me know if you have any further information (please provide a source). Am I missing any? Let me know and I’ll look into it.

[...] Interesting post on San Francisco venue capacities by fellow SF music blogger ipickmynose.com. [...]
12 Galaxies number is right. Main floor plus balcony. I’ve thrown events there where we had more than 400 inside.
[...] I just grabbed tickets to the smallest show, at the Bottom of the Hill. Tickets are already on sale for that and the Bimbo’s shows, as of this morning! MG tickets always go like lightning and John Darnielle puts on a great show. Here are handy links to the two shows that are on sale: [...]
[...] Pitchfork reported this morning that Death Cab for Cutie will be heading to the Fillmore on April 23. Given that they’re releasing a new album May 13, the tour is totally unsurprising, but the choice of venue is. This is Death Cab after all. The same band that’s over one and a half million in total album sales. The same band that headlined (and sold out, if memory serves) the 8500 capacity Greek Theater. Much smaller (but still good) bands like Andrew Bird head to the 2100-capacity Warfield over the 1250 capacity Fillmore, so this is a surprise for sure. [...]
sf design center concourse is a 3,500-capacity space

you are leaving Red Devil Lounge off the list.
Al, I haven’t had the opportunity to go to the Red Devil Lounge, but I’ll go ahead and add it.
We just packed 141 (paid) and 15 from the guest list into Hotel Utah. 88 is probably only due to the fire code, but they told me they have sold up to 150.
You were invited Adrian! Come to our next show, perhaps?
[...] Today’s announcement about the album and tour said he’s actually going to play a venue quite a bit smaller than the Great American (350 capacity at Swedish vs. 600 at Great American). 5/6, 5/7 Iron & [...]
You should include the Fox (2,800; http://www.myspace.com/foxoakland) and the Paramount (3.040; http://www.paramounttheatre.com/specs.html)
