In the last couple of weeks sister venues Great American and Slim’s have started selling their own tickets online at gamhtickets.com and slimstickets.com for a $1 fee/ ticket. When tickets.com, ticketweb and ticket master are all charging a minimum (it seems) of $4 and quite often more like $8, this is welcome.

I should note, however, that both venues previously sold a limited number of tickets through virtuous for a $2 / ticket and a portion of that (but who knows how much) went to charity.

So, perhaps this isn’t a particularly big win by itself, but I hope other venues follow suit. Come on, Bottom of the Hill! Come on, Independent! I don’t think there’s much hope of getting low-fees tickets from LiveNation or Another Planet Entertainment (which includes the Independent).
