good bills this weekend
It’s not often that I see bills for shows where I want to see more than one or two of the bands. There are actually two bills this weekend where I want to check out all the bands on the bills.
Tonight:
8/24 Au Revoir Simone, Oh No! Oh My!, Morning Benders @ Bottom of the Hill, 10pm, $10, a/a
The Morning Benders (myspace) are great. Definitely worth seeing. I’ve never seen Oh No! Oh My! but I’ve enjoyed their music for a while. (And the last time they were in town they were headlining the much larger Independent.) I like what I’ve heard from Au Revoir Simone so I’d like to check them out as well.
Tomorrow:
8/25 Or the Whale, Birds and Batteries, Social Studies @ Great American, 9pm, $12, a/a
That’s three local bands that are getting a lot of good press. I’ve been loving the Or, the Whale album (myspace) especially and some reputable people have been talking up the other bands, so I want to check them out.

[...] As I mentioned there were a couple good bills this weekend. Friday’s was The Morning Benders (myspace) and Oh No! Oh My! (myspace) at the Bottom of the Hill. Au Revoir Simone headlined the show. Much to my surprise, it was sold out by the time I got there, around 9:50pm (for a 10pm show). It was a good bill and luckily I had bought my ticket already.
