Taipei indie rock

I didn’t think there’d be much indie rock in Taiwan, but yesterday I saw this display in a bookstore:

It’s a bunch of different (and fairly hip) indie rock CDs, including ones by the Stars, the Album Leaf and Plus/Minus.

I liked the marketing sticker on the Appleseed Cast’s Low Level Owl Vol. I & II (which even refers to a Pitchfork review)

    Yeah, Taipei has it’s own indie scene, with some interesting artists. You can read an interview with one of them here:

    Just as in the States, Pitchfork seems to wear the taste-making crown. People were talking about it when I was there two years ago.
