the Speakers (myspace) are Brian Miller of ipickmynose repeat play fodder the Lightning Bug Situation and Peter Musselman. They’re playing well after the game ends on Superbowl Sunday, February 3 at the Hemlock.

The Speakers style is not too far off from the Lightning Bug Situation sound, perhaps a little less dark. It’s subdued with lovely vocals and subtle but effective orchestrations.

Brian tells me that they’ll be “playing some old Speakers chestnuts, as well as some Lightning Bug Situation songs. Peter’s going to be doing some crazy stuff too.”

Brian also mentioned that NPR recently named the Lightning Bug Situation a top unknown artist of 2007.
