I haven’t updated about one of my favorite local bands, the Morning Benders (myspace) in a while.
They have a new album, Talking Through Tin Cans coming out May 6 on +1. It appears to have a number of the songs they played when I hosted them on KZSU.
“Crosseyed” continues to do what the Morning Benders do best: seemingly effortless great pop songwriting with interesting melodies and harmonic changes.

Here’s one of the tracks from the forthcoming album live and acoustic when the band was down at KZSU. I’m really interested to hear what it sounds like in a studio version.

They’ve also been releasing covers and demos on their blog. I also love their quirky tour photo posts.
They have also put a bunch of the album/ b-side tracks up on their myspace player so it’s a definite worthwhile stop.
