[...] It’s a hair over a year since I first heard the Dodos (myspace), a show that caused me to Local and I’m Listening series and left me obsessed for months. (I may have caught on early but I was certainly not the first[1].) I liked them enough to tell a number of people to get to another Dodos show five days later early enough to see them. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen an opening band cold and wanted to see them again five days later, but I did. I’ve since been song obsessed, hosted them at KZSU and seen them yet again. This was all before Visiter came out and they got all that attention. [...]

[...] Adrian (me): Or, the Whale - Shasta (Live at KZSU) (mp3) (exclusive, unreleased, buy their album) After hearing this lovely song both when when I saw the band last Wednesday and seeing them last Thursday, I ended up singing this song to myself as I walked around all weekend and some of this week. It’s definitely the multiple overlapping vocals at the end that does it. [...]

[...] 2/28 Dodos w/ Or, the Whale; Bodies of Water @ Cafe du Nord The Dodos played with common-for-them intensity and were thrilling. Or, the Whale was really solid, as usual. Bodies of Water were too proggy for me. [...]
