Local music gurus the Bay Bridged celebrate their 3rd Birthday Bash at the Rickshaw Stop. It includes a solid night of local music by the Heavenly States (myspace), Birds and Batteries and Geographer (myspace).
I got Delayer, the Heavenly States’ 2008 album, early last year. For me, it wasn’t immediate; rather, it took time and subtly grew on me. In the end, it’s quite an enjoyable album with a mix of straight up rockers, softer songs and a few that split the difference.
I’ve seen Geographer perhaps too many times at this point. I mean that in number only–I still want to see them again because they put on an excellent live show that brings their music to a new level from their recordings.
So to recap:
2/5 Heavenly States, Birds & Batteries, Geographer @ Rickshaw Stop, 8pm*, $12, a/a

* I should note that though the official start time is 8pm, I’ve never seen the first band go on at the Rickshaw before 9 or 9:15.
