In an effort to be more transparent to my readers, I would like to disclose promotional considerations or relationships of any sorts with bands, promotional companies or the like. I do not believe these things compromise my writing or my judgment of the music or show.

I would like to disclose one of two things:

[1] I have received promotional consideration from the band, their promotion representative, their label, or their manager. This is usually a ticket to their concert or a copy of their album.

[2] I am friends or acquaintances with members of the band. For the purpose of drawing a line, I will disclose situations in which I have seen band members socially outside of a concert context.

If you’d ever like me to clarify any of my disclosures further, please contact me and I will.

Note: I also receive some staff promotional tickets as a DJ at KZSU. Considering the bands and their representatives have no relation to getting these tickets, I don’t see a need to disclose them.
